While going through everyday life, you will face ups and down, that is the harsh reality of life. What matters at this time is what you do with these situations. Do you sometimes feel like you have a lot to do but very little time to do it? You are definitely having productivity problems but relax, it happens to everyone. We are here to help you eliminate those problems and be the best version of yourself!

What Is The Meaning Of Productivity?

We know what productivity is, I mean we are actually paid for our productivity at work but how do you define it? Productivity is a very broad word with a very large meaning, it isn’t just related to work but all different areas of life. From a work perspective, it could be how many hours you worked on the job. From an academic perspective, it could be the number of words you wrote or how many subjects you passed. Now tell us, what is common in both of these scenarios? Productivity is just output measured by input!

How much output can you get by providing a certain level of input? You increase the input and the output automatically increases, seems simple enough right? Although it is much more complicated, sometimes there are certain barriers between the input and the output, and we are here to help you remove those barriers.

Many people use time management techniques to be more productive at work, this works for some people, but not all of those who use it. Yes, time management and productivity are definitely interconnected but we often see people with poor productivity that have excellent time management skills.

For people that don’t know, time management is a range of different skills and tools that enhance the effective use of a person’s time, you learn to do more in your time. Productivity is something different, these are the results that are achieved within a certain amount of time.

    What Is Toxic Productivity?

Now you know the importance of being productive but have you ever heard about toxic productivity? This is basically the need to be productive at all times at the expense of everything else. You ignore every other aspect of life and only focus on your work, that is completely wrong. Life is all about finding and having that crucial balance between your professional and personal life.

You ever saw those social media trends like #girlboss? This is where young women are encouraged to have it all, a six-figure salary, working out intensely, going on multiple vacations annually, and even having healthy meals. All of this seems great but they also represent toxic productivity, you will always feel like you want to achieve more.

In desperate pursuits like these, we lose track of ourselves and focus only on what we are doing. During COVID-19, our lives became very different. Since we shifted to remote work, the lines between professional and personal life became very blurred, we always wanted to go that “Extra Mile”. Now that things have finally returned to normal, we still have that feeling of doing great every day, this has nothing to do with productivity. Being like this might increase your productivity in the short term but will also cause you to have burnout where you will just shut down eventually.

How Can You Be More Productive?

In all aspects of life, being productive is the one thing that matters the most. Although a person should be productive in every field of life, being productive at work is a necessity. Not only will this allow you to perform better at work but will also give you job satisfaction.

The modern workplace has now evolved, and we have the pandemic to thank for that. There is no longer the traditional 9-5 because most work timings have become hybrid, remote, or combinations with in-person jobs. Since working has now become very flexible, how can we become more productive? Some of us have been motivated to do even better than before while some of us are now facing dynamic challenges. This goes for both employers and employees, we must find new ways to provide us the motivation and track efficiency.

Here are some adjustments that we can make in our work schedule to improve overall productivity.

    • Stack Your Habits: In order to be better, we can start by stacking our habits. We don’t have to start with the big habits, make small but meaningful changes in your life. Combine different habits and stick with those that make your work a lot easier.
    • Be A Master Of Time Management: Focus on the skills that help you make the most out of your work hours. If you are spending time on a specific task then you must also yield the required results.
    • Be More Accountable: Motivation and accountability can make huge changes to your work routine. If you can hold yourself accountable then it is great, otherwise, you will have to find a work buddy. This work buddy will motivate you, hold you accountable for your work, and also do weekly checkups. You can even create weekly or monthly goals to enhance your overall performance.

    Important Tips To Improve Productivity

Here are some important work tips that you can follow to improve your productivity.

    Focus On One Task

Some people have the habit of multitasking, which is great but it might distract you from the bigger picture. Multitasking might help you with different tasks, you might also feel like the jack of all trades but your productivity won’t increase in the long run.

Focus on one task at a time, this will allow you to complete that task with high standards. When the said task is done, you can move on to the next one.

    Learn To Take A Break

This might seem a bit unorthodox at first but you really need to know when to take a break. Regular breaks are actually great at the workplace, they help in reducing stress and also increase your overall productivity. You can take a look at this course from Monash University, this will allow you to improve your performance by reducing/eliminating stress.

Most workplaces ensure that their employees take regular breaks, this enhances their overall productivity. You can also try this approach at home, if you are not being monitored while working from home, try taking breaks of 15 minutes. Move away from work and focus on yourself, then return back to work, this will allow you to proceed with work effectively.

    Set Small But Effective Goals

You will be given large and intimidating tasks at work, what matters is how you deal with them. Stress might be the normal response here but you can also play it smart. You are going to get the task done eventually but let’s make the process even more efficient. You can break any large task into small but manageable tasks, this will help you stay productive and will also make the best of time.

Think of it like building blocks, you will have to focus on one small task at a time but the end result will be fascinating.

    Set Self-Imposed Deadlines

Setting self-imposed deadlines can actually help you be more productive at work. Stress is a bad thing, but self-imposed stress can actually help us focus and be better. You can do really well with open-ended tasks or projects once you give yourself a deadline.

Stick to that deadline and you will be surprised by the miracles that you can perform at work.

    Try Following The “Two-Minute” Rule

Steve Olenski is one of the finest Entrepreneurs to date and he has given wonderful advice in the shape of the “Two-Minute” Rule. The Two Minute rule is basically about making the best out of small windows at work. Olenski tells us that if there is a task at work, and you can do it in 2 minutes then you do it post haste. When you complete that small task, you don’t actually have to waste more time getting back to it, which also increases your productivity.

It is because of this rule, he has now become one of the most influential content strategists.

Make The Most Of Your Commute

What do you do in your free time at work? Do you check out your feed on Facebook? Or stroll through Instagram? In order to make the most of your time, focus your mind on your own productivity. Come up with ideas that will actually make your job easy. This is the best time to brainstorm!

Forget About The Idea Of Perfection

Entrepreneurs love getting hung on trying to perfectly execute a task, but the thing is that perfection doesn’t actually exist. You can only do the best according to your abilities and wait for the results. You can also revisit some tasks or projects and try to improve them if you can.

Turning the Page: Steps to Create a New Chapter in Your Life

Life is filled with numerous victories and downfalls, what matters is how you tackle each situation. May it be your love life or a serious life struggle, we must learn to move on. Here’s how you can create a new chapter in your life. Let’s start!

    in Inspirational StoriesLifePositive Thinking

    Turning The Page

If you could talk to your younger self again, what would you tell them? Not to trust a specific person or alter a decision that you made. For me, the best advice to give my younger self would be to be stronger, because life is only going to get harder from here on. People who knew me almost 15 years ago would think that I’m dead now, but little do they know. I had a lot of problems back then, had no self-confidence, didn’t love myself and so much more but now I have improved for the better. If I can become the best version of myself then so can you, I am here to help you with that.

Turning your life around can be easy if you truly believe in yourself, after all, you only have yourself in this world. So turn the pages of your life with us, and move on from every struggle and heartbreak. I changed my life for the better, and now it is your turn to do so.

All of it starts with a secret, the kind of secret which took me decades to learn. Although it took me a while to get everything straight, I will be sharing my findings with you today. Whatever your problems are, the solution will come to you easily, just have patience. Here is how you can move from every struggle that you are currently facing.

    Draw A Line Mentally

Life is going to throw a lot of problems your way, you need to be mentally prepared for each and every situation. You might find yourself in the same knots, in the same rotting company, and in the same dead ends, what you can do in this kind of situation is draw a mental line. This line will help you mark your future decisions.

Everything that you faced till now was just a part of the problem and everything which comes after will be part of the solution. Take the whole thing as a learning experience, because if you don’t then it could lead to unnecessary hurdles.

You just drew a line mentally, but how can you use it efficiently? Use that mental page break to give yourself refined courage to be better and to heal. In order to be better than before you need to leave that guilt and shame in the past and emerge as someone new. You need to make sure that no matter what happens, you won’t let anything hold you back and will try to be better each day. The secret over here is to never stop trying, once you stop trying you are already dead.

Screwing up is totally fine, if you feel like crying then do so, all of this will make you feel better. Let none of these things break you down, they are only here to provide us with lessons, nothing else. You must develop a kind of attitude that itself becomes the solution to all of your problems. Break free from all of your past problems and emerge as a phoenix from the ashes of your past!

    Learn From Others

There is one common mistake that many of us make when dealing with a problem or situation, we try to go through all of it on our own. Landing in a sticky place or even a cycle of self-sabotage is extremely concerning if you don’t do anything about it. In order to get out of this situation, you must be willing to bring others into the fray. When we talk about others, I refer to the people that you are close with. These could be your family and close friends. Humans are social beings and we have to interact with each other, in one way or the other. Make sure that the interaction is actually beneficial in some way, it should uplift your spirit and not bring you down.

It is an amazing approach to find people that have gone through the same trials as you have and since they know the hardships, they will be able to assist you better. Never let go of that hope, find aspiration and motivation in others even when you can’t find it in yourself.

When you start learning and depending on others, you notice the different patterns which made them successful. Some people plan the solutions while others actually live the solutions, always go for the latter. If people are truly free of their issues, they will be able to help you out truly.

    Try Everything In Your Hands

How can you move on from a struggle until and unless you have tried everything in your hands? Sometimes we might feel that we have tried out so much and still nothing is working out for us, I know that situation as I have been there. I would say this one thing to you, giving up is easy, but continuing with the pain is hard but worth it.

Some people make a very common mistake here, they try the generic solutions provided to them. Now, what could be the generic options? Pills, counseling, books, potions, and other useless thing won’t get you anywhere. When I was using these items they were draining me on a daily basis, and I almost gave up. Now when I look back, I thank myself for not giving up.

In this kind of situation, what can I do? The only viable solution that I would offer you is to think outside the box. Try solutions that you never ever dreamed of, and who knows, they might actually make things better for you.

    Let Go Of Your Past

In order to move on from every struggle and heartbreak, you must let go of the past, guilt, and resentment. No matter what, negative feelings are always going to be counter-productive. You may feel like justifying them but they are only going to drain you out in the long run, so you have to avoid them. Forgive the people that have hurt you in the past and start venturing towards the path of enlightenment.

I have learned something from my trials, it is easy to forgive others but very hard to forgive ourselves. We must forgive ourselves so that we can easily begin the next chapter. We did our best in that time, it was certainly the right thing to do but it didn’t work out and that wasn’t your fault. Forgive yourself and begin anew.

The most critical and crucial thing that you need to do is look at the future and look forward to the new upcoming chapter of your life. Talk to yourself like a gentle teacher, everyone makes mistakes, it is what makes us humans. A warm and encouraging tone will help you out very much.

    Do What Actually Works

In order to get out of a struggle or sticky situation, you have to do what works right? Well, most people get busy doing the things that don’t get them anywhere. In stressful situations, people self-inflict pain onto themselves. For example, many people resort to alcohol or smoking to relieve the stress, which just kills them slowly.

Live in reality to make sensible and favorable choices for yourself. Don’t follow the path to anger and destroy what is good for you. Yes, actively and always engaging in battles and struggles is going to be very hard, but being stuck in pain and self-resentment will be even harder.

Picture your goals in your mind and make sensible steps towards them with each passing day. Let nothing stand in your way.

Self Love: A Foundation For All Healthy Relationships

Why is self-love considered a transformative power in building healthy relationships? Let’s find out!

    in Inspirational StoriesLove

We are all engulfed with the thought of having fulfilling relationships. One’s that will bring some meaning to our lives and make us happy. We are so overwhelmed with finding true happiness that we often forget that true happiness lies within us.

Yes, that’s right. By now we have heard more than a million times that true happiness lies within ourselves. You have to love yourself first in order to love someone else. We have heard in countless pep talks that self-love is the foundation of a happy life. But have you ever wondered that with so many preachers of self-love, why haven’t we been able to love ourselves?

One of the reasons for our failure to love ourselves is that we have been taught to be selfless from the start of time. The minute we start thinking about ourselves, everyone around us makes it their personal mission to remind us of how selfish we are being. But there is nothing wrong with putting your needs and yourself first. Self-love is not selfish. It only helps us better understand which sacrifices are worth making!

Self-love is the root of all your healthy relationships. The stronger your roots are, the more difficult it will be for winds to knock down the branches. Before exploring this notion, it is very important to understand what self-love truly means. With such a thin line between being ruthless and self-loving, it is too easy to stumble on the darker side.

    What Is Self-love?

I am certainly not going to paste an Oxford dictionary definition of what self-love is because what good would that be? I will, however, explain to you the essence of self-love. At the very of it lies the care and value one has for oneself. Self-love, in its essence, is to truly accept who you are and what your worth is. It is the art of building a compassionate relationship with your own soul.

Love yourself first, and everything else falls in line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world

          Lucille Ball

    The Fundamentals Of Self-Love

To fully understand what self-love is, let’s explore the fundamentals or you can say the key elements that contribute to it.

    Self Acceptance

The first important key element of self-love is self-acceptance. You have to truly accept who you are. And by acceptance, I do not mean just your strengths, you have to recognize your weaknesses too. They are a part of you. They make you who you are.

The moment you accept yourself, you become beautiful

    Osho

All your imperfections, your insecurities, and your perfections come together to build your personality. We cannot nitpick parts of us to love and ignore. The core of self-acceptance is to be authentic with yourself. So I would advise you to look through the window of your soul and accept all the colors that you see. No matter how dark or grim they might be!

    Self-Compassion

It is a good thing to be compassionate about your environment but in the process, don’t forget to be compassionate with yourself too. Forgive yourself for the mistakes that you make, the goals that you fail, or whenever you face a setback. Treat yourself with the same level of empathy you would offer to someone you love the most.

You’ve been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens

    Louise L. Hay

    Self-Care

We are taught to care for everyone around us, and to look after each other but has anyone of us ever asked ourselves who we should be caring for the most in the world? Our parents? Family Friends? Relations? I will tell you a simple answer: Ourselves!

Every one of us needs to show how much we care for each other and, in the process, care for ourselves

    Princess Diana

The expectation of waiting for someone else to care for you is delusional. Only you can care for yourself the most in a way nobody else can. Look after your relations but do not forget to look after yourself. You can only give something that you have in abundance. Think about it.

Self-Love And Relationships- Why One Cannot Work Without The Other?

Self-love and healthy relationships cannot be separated. Self-love is the very core of any healthy relationship. Now you might wonder how my love for myself is going to make me able to have a healthy relationship. Isn’t a healthy relationship all about giving? Honestly, No.

    Boundaries

First and foremost, when you know your worth, you know what you are willing to accept in a relationship and what not. You will know where to draw boundaries because you value your own opinions. You will have a clear understanding of what you need, what are your values, and your limits.

You have to love and respect yourself enough to not let people use and abuse you. You have to set boundaries and keep them, let people clearly know how you won’t tolerate being treated, and let them know how you expect to be treated

    Conflict Resolution

Self-love plays a very important role in conflict resolution in a relationship. When one truly love themselves, they have a healthier understanding of everything. They have more confidence and self-esteem to be able to voice their opinions.

    Healthy Partner Choice

Self-love also contributes to choosing an emotionally healthy partner. When you have higher self-esteem, you tend to avoid any toxic relationship. You do not settle for less because you know what you deserve because you know your worth.

These small things – nutrition, place, climate, recreation, the whole casuistry of selfishness – are inconceivably more important than everything one has taken to be important so far

    Friedrich Nietzsche

    Emotional Availability

You can be only emotionally available when you do not have inner conflicts. When you are constantly fighting your own feelings, it leads to confusion and frustration, and a lack of availability emotionally for your partner. Empathy stems from self-love.

Emotional Makeup is more important than technical skill

    Warren Buffett

When you have the capacity to take care of your own emotions, you become emotionally stable. This stability allows you to better empathize with and understand your partner’s experiences and emotions. Due to this, you can offer them genuine care and support

    Recap

So now you know that self-love and healthy relationships are practically inseparable. One cannot thrive without the other because they depend on each other for fulfillment and growth. They are interconnected with your happiness because self-love will motivate you to have better boundaries, a healthier understanding of your own self, and better emotional intelligence.

So it is really true when they say that:

Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.
